South Korea Expedition

When you think of the ultimate family vacation, what comes to mind? Maybe a classic beach resort or a famous theme park. But if you’re looking for a destination that effortlessly combines deep-rooted history, hyper-modern conveniences, and unparalleled safety, let me introduce you to your next great family escape: South Korea.

Often overshadowed by its neighbors, South Korea is a hidden gem for family travel. It’s incredibly safe, remarkably clean, and boasts a public transit system that makes traveling with kids a breeze. Whether you are traveling with curious toddlers, energetic grade-schoolers, or hard-to-impress teens, Korea offers a vibrant mix of neon-lit skyscrapers, ancient palaces, and stunning coastal landscapes that will keep the whole family mesmerized.

We’ve decided to pack our bags and dive headfirst into the Land of the Morning Calm. To truly experience the country's diverse regions without feeling rushed, we’ve crafted the perfect two-week family itinerary

Here is a sneak peek at our 14-day journey:

  • 1 Week in Seoul: We are starting in the beating heart of the country! Seven days gives us the perfect amount of time to explore the bustling capital at a family-friendly pace. We’ll be dressing up in traditional hanboks to wander through ancient palaces, tasting our way through vibrant street food markets, and marveling at the futuristic architecture.

  • 3 Days in Busan: Next, we are taking the high-speed train down to South Korea's second-largest city. Busan offers a beautiful change of scenery with its sweeping ocean views, family-friendly beaches, and the famously colorful Gamcheon Culture Village.

  • 3 Days in Jeonju: To round out our trip, we are slowing things down in Jeonju. Known as the spiritual capital of the Joseon Dynasty and the birthplace of bibimbap, we’ll be staying in a traditional Hanok village, sleeping on heated floors, and experiencing the quieter, historic side of Korean culture.

Traveling across the globe with family is always an adventure, complete with its own set of unique challenges and unforgettable rewards. Grab a cup of coffee (or a dalgona matcha!) and follow along as we share our daily itineraries, family travel hacks, and all the incredible things we discover along the way. Let's go to Korea!
